Wedding bouquets
are one of those little dainty wedding details that make a bride's ensemble just
a touch more special. Many brides love their bouquet so much, they want to keep
the blooms forever, and many can if you only know effective preservation
techniques that will help you keep the beauty of your beloved wedding bouquet. Here
are some tips on preserving your wedding blooms:
- Press and frame some, if not all the flowers or dry the entire bouquet and have it covered with glass. Pressing flowers from your bouquet is about the easiest option and a good way to create a meaningful home decor that you can keep for life. On the other hand, drying out the bouquet by yourself might pose quite a bit of a challenge.
- Dry using a variety of ways. One is with the use of the microwave. Fill a bowl with some cat litter and pick out the flowers you wish to dry and set the microwave on high for about 2 to 3 minutes. When the cat litter cools, remove the flowers and brush off excess litter to find a perfectly dried bloom. You may also dry flowers using silica gel in a jar or by simply air drying them in a well-ventilated area like the kitchen rafters or a spare, empty closet. The last technique will give you beautifully and naturally dried flowers in lovely vintage hues.
- If you think you can't dry or press right on your own, you can always find and go to your local florist . You can ask them to preserve some of your wedding flowers or give them the entire bouquet to preserve. This technique guarantees a well-
- preserved wedding memento that you can keep for as long as you want.
