You are probably extremely busy buying the perfect wedding dress, choosing the best venue, booking the right photographer and band, and finding a good caterer. One of the greatest things about wedding registries is that they allow you to ask for gifts politely-and to make sure that you don't end up with duplicate presents or things that you would never really use. Registries also make things easier for your guests as it eliminates the stress of finding the perfect gift for you and your future spouse. Here are some of the most basic and important things that you should include in your wedding registry checklist to help you jumpstart your married life:

• Kitchen items – Most couples nowadays already live together before getting married and are likely to have most household items that they need—but there’s always room for a little more. Register for those higher-end, top-quality kitchen items that you wouldn't usually buy for yourself but are very practical. Think food processors and a good quality toaster. If you are starting from scratch, however, throwing in some spoons, cake pans, pots, and pans would also be a good idea.

• Bedroom items – Your wedding registry list should include sheets, pillows, and comforters that you like, along with basic furniture like bedside tables and even lamps.

• Bathroom items – Bath items like bath towels, washcloths, wastebaskets, and bathroom decor are also good ideas for wedding gifts.

Other fun items – You may also add other fun items and unique requests that you think your guests and loved ones will be generous enough to humor you with.
